Heat-reflective treatment
ABOVE-GROUND RAILS FOR RAILWAY
LINEE FERROVIARIE AND UNDERGROUND LINES
Application of a light-coloured, highly reflective coating to the rails, designed to reduce heat absorption and limit the expansion of the steel.
Purpose
SERVICE OBJECTIVES
The primary purpose of the heat-reflective treatment service for railway rails is to prevent the tracks from overheating due to solar radiation by applying a light-coloured, highly reflective paint to the rails. This results in:
• Heat absorption is reduced
• Steel expansion is limited
• Geometric instability of the rails caused by intense heat is prevented.
EQUIPMENT
OPERA WORKS DEDICATED TO
The service is provided using dedicated vehicles and equipment, with particular attention paid to the environmental sustainability of the mixtures used in the formulation of the paints and to the disposal of unused product.
SEASONALITY
READY WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT
The provision of this service is highly seasonal. Every year, as spring approaches, we organise ourselves to handle all the requests we receive from the various railway operators.
EXPERIENCE
HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF
Our operators are not only trained in the correct use of machinery, but also have a detailed understanding of the laws and regulations governing their working environment and are trained to work with the highest possible level of safety.
QUALITY
HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE SERVICE? WE'LL TELL YOU
There may be instances where paint applied during previous treatments prevents the new paint from adhering properly to the rail. We assess this possibility on a case-by-case basis and make our equipment available to customers for the removal of existing paint.
PREVENTION IS THE BEST FORM OF TREATMENT
It is important to assess, in consultation with the rail operator, the timetable for the service in order to ensure its effectiveness. This is why, as early as February, we are proposing a flexible schedule designed to accommodate delays caused by adverse weather conditions
